Sacred and Secular Reflections at St Luke’s

‘All through the night’: sacred and secular reflections for Holy Saturday
Anna Boucher (mezzo-soprano) and Helly Summerly (soprano) are joined by Philip Stopford (piano) as they perform a selection of contemplative and reflective music, specially chosen for Holy Saturday. From the emotive sacred arias of the Bach Passions, to the lyrical art songs of Roger Quilter, the programme also features some of Philip’s best-loved works, including his hauntingly beautiful setting of the Stabat Mater text. There is music to enjoy from Handel and Pergolesi, contrasted with fresh arrangements of sacred classics such as Amazing Grace, and even a rendition of the iconic musical theatre hit ‘Bring him home’ as you’ve never heard it before.
2pm for c. 1 hour
Entry is free and open to all with a retiring collection for the parish Summer Programme, providing three weeks of community-building and activities for local children aged 8-13.
