Paolozzi’s Oscar Wilde Statue for Dovehouse Green

Some of you may have seen the display at the back of St. Luke’s recently giving some interesting facts about Sir Eduardo Paolozzi and Oscar Wilde. The statue is progressing well at the Pangolin Foundry in Stroud and has been “signed off” for the next stage of development, which is to make a wax mould from the model that should take us through to the new year and the pouring of the metal in February/March. This will be followed by the polishing and finishing patina before the proposed installation – all being well – in May 2024.

Images of the model are below. The sculpture will measure approximately 2 metres in height, 2.3 metres in length and 2 metres in depth. It will stand on a plinth 25 centimetres in height of polished concrete resembling stone.
